dimentia - a vision's voice - void008
Bringing together hard distorted beats and otherworldly melodies, this is Dimentia's first full length album release. Involved with various West Coast soundsystem projects, such as SPAZ, Katabatik and the Autonomous Mutant Fest, for over a decade Dimentia music is made to rock a soundsystem. His gear based performance style translates to this release as all tracks are live studio recordings.. this isn't pre-programmed. As he weaves his sounds you can almost hear the echos of forest carnivals and dark powers from ages past... or in fact those of the future...

a view into the different aspects of broken beats in the detroit area, with each track representing a different micro community. cut at 45 rpm so that tracks can be played both fast and slow (most sound good at both speeds). also though not necessarily how i would do it next time, experimenting with cutting 3 tracks on a side and maximizing high frequency fidelity gives the record some interesting sonic qualities.

a:up there
b:virulence
Experimental dance music from darkmatter soundsystem's diskore. This record features a weird cut that requires some explanation. Diskore's tracks featured so much extreme high end that they could not possibly translate to vinyl. To keep as much of his raw sound as possible his tracks are cut within the outside 2 inches of a 12" at 45rpm. On the a side you can even hear the high end frying out.. silk screened jackets

the first from the gut event in detroit, we covered everything in our first warehouse space in plastic to block out all light and hide ourselves and our equipment. we announced an event but gave no details. about 30 people arrived to yellow lights and radio static. we killed the lights and performed at full volume for an hour and a half. cdr contains excerpts.
